Ink Swatching

This weekend, I thought I would create a swatch book of all my ink colors. I took a 3 ring binder, some coin pocket plastic sleeves and a template to create 2×2 squares that contain the vendor and the ink color.

I used a bold stamp to create my swatches. The ampersand came from the stamp set called Extraordinary Life to create all my swatches. I used Stampin’ Up! Basic White cardstock to print the labels at the bottom of each of the 2×2 squares.
I used the new Stampin Positioner to help ensure that my images stamps correctly without having to redo the swatch. With the position, I could re-ink and restamp the image in the same place without worrying I would create a double impression or shadow image.

Once completed, and I was sure the ink was completely dried, I put all the swatches in the binder. I love color so whenever I feel a block and want some inspiration, I pull out my swatch book and look through all my inks to get into that creative process. I do this will my colored pencils as well when I am looking for a color palette.
In my next post, I will compare the MISTI to the Stampin’ Positioner for those who have the MISTI but are looking to change or for those who have never had a positioner and are doing research in which to choose.
